WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Legal Aid Society of the Palm Beach County, Inc. Board Member and Criminal Defense Attorney, Michelle Suskauer of the Suskauer Law firm, and Legal Aid Attorney and Pro Bono Coordinator, Kim Rommel-Enright; chaired the Legal Aid Society’s 6th Annual Children’s Book Fest Luncheon and Gift Gathering Gala—held at Barnes & Noble in City Place on Friday, December 5th from 11am to 2pm.
The event will benefit The Legal Aid Society’s Children’s Fund, which provides medicine, clothing and school supplies to disadvantaged children in our community. Patrons were encouraged to buy at least one book that will go into baskets to be auctioned off at the Legal Aid Society’s Pro Bono recognition evening, held in May 2009. In addition, Barnes & Noble donated 15% of the event sales to the Legal Aid Society’s programs. Book Fest donors were treated to a free lunch were entered into numerous raffles.
“Today’s Book Fest was a great success and we thank those who generously supported us,” said Event Chair Michelle Suskauer. “We had more than 70 donors and received a record number of books and donations. These will make a real difference in our effort to fight for the rights of people who have nowhere else to turn.”
Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1949. Its mission is to provide equal access to the judicial system for the disadvantaged living in Palm Beach County. Projects include the Domestic Violence Project, Juvenile Advocacy Project, Foster Children’s Project, Ryan White Project, Fair Housing Project and Elder Law Project.
