Suskauer talks about the annual Florida Bar Convention underway at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, including a women’s panel featuring State Supreme Court Justice Barbara Lagoa and a speech from Gov. DeSantis during the Judicial Luncheon.
Governor Ron DeSantis will be in Boca Raton for lunch on Thursday.
The Florida Bar’s annual convention is being held at the Boca Raton Resort and Club and Florida Bar President Michelle Suskauer says the governor is attending the Judicial Luncheon.
“Speaking about the three new justices that he appointed, his thoughts about the judiciary.”
Also at the luncheon, Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Canady will deliver the State of the Judiciary address and the new Justices will be introduced, including Barbara Lagoa, who took part Wednesday in a special panel of prominent women lawyers and judges.
Suskauer says in addition to Lagoa, others who took part in the “How She Did It: UnCONVENTIONal Paths to Leadership” panel included Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried, Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and Miami Federal Judge Pat Seitz, who was the first female to serve as president of the Florida Bar.
